Chester County 4th of July Fireworks

Few things scream “Fourth of July!” like fireworks and barbecuing. Maybe you’ve got the grill fired up, but aren’t sure where to find the fireworks. If you’re new to the area, new to spending the Fourth of July in Chester County or just looking to try something new- take a look at five fantastic ways to celebrate our nation’s birthday with a bang.

1. 38th Annual Good Neighbor Day

Event Details: Good Neighbor Day is a longstanding tradition for Chester County residents. Part carnival, part community health fair and 100% fun, Good Neighbor Day has a full docket of events and activities for every age and interest. Good Neighbor Day kicks off with several Fun Runs (and Walks). Fair rides and food trucks open at 10 AM. The fun continues all day, culminating in a fantastic fireworks show at dusk. 2. Nottingham County Park Freedom Fest

Admission: Free. $10 donation to park (cash only). ADA parking available for those with ADA parking permit.

Event Details:
Celebrate Independence Day with an amazing 30-minute show of dazzling surprises and ground displays set to music. The grand finale incorporates the traditional raising of the American flag above the fields of Nottingham County Park. Freedom Fest gates open at 6:00 PM. While Freedom Fest offers music, food and vendors starting at 6 PM- the main attraction is definitely the fireworks display. Fireworks start at 9:30 PM.
In the event that weather prohibits safe shooting of the fireworks show, Freedom Fest will be postponed to Sunday, July 2. Passing showers or storms may delay the July 1 show, causing us to make a late postponement, or forego early festivities while allowing the main fireworks show as planned. Rain date parking vouchers will be distributed at designated event parking locations. Organizers ask that attendees avoid lining up early so as not to inconvenience local residents. Parking areas will close early when they reach capacity, arrive early and enjoy the whole show. Last shuttle bus leaves remote parking area at 9:00 PM. NO ALCOHOL, PETS, STROLLERS, WAGONS! 

3. Longwood Gardens Fireworks & Fountain

Event Details: Well-known patriotic music abounds as Longwood Gardens celebrates America and the restoration of their famed Garden Fountains. A dazzling display of water, fireworks and lights- this performance is sure to be one to remember. The show begins with The Olympic Fanfare, followed by Victory at Sea, The Colonel Bogey March, The Winds of War, King’s Row, an Armed Forces Medley, The Stars & Stripes, and ends in an exhilarating finale.

4.  Phoenixville Independence Day Celebration

Event Parking: Park behind the reservoir, Franklin Commons, the Santa Anna Club or the Bethel Baptist Church. Handicapped parking is available in the gravel parking lot adjacent to the Friendship Field, Fillmore Street entrance. 

Event Details: This year promises a new and exciting pyrotechnics show designed to thrill family and friends.  Marking Celebration Day’s 17th year, the fun-filled, family-oriented show will begin at approximately 9:15 p.m. The public is invited to view the event on the natural amphitheater at Friendship Field, Fillmore & Franklin Avenue, or from Reservoir Park. Chester County vendors will also be returning this year with water ice, French fries and other favorites.

Please bring your lawn chairs and blankets but remember, alcohol, drugs, and pets are not allowed. The rain date is July 5, 2016 and will begin at the same scheduled time.

5.  Tredyffrin Township 4th of July Celebration

Event Details: Come celebrate the 4th with the annual fireworks spectacular at Wilson Farm Park in Wayne. Attendees can bring a picnic or purchase a treat from the variety of vendors on site. Sit back and enjoy the patriotic sounds of the Chester County Concert Band, while you experience one of the best fireworks display in the area.
